Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Partners with Florida Medical Clinic to Open New Wound Healing Center
Hospital partners with Florida Medical Clinic Infectious Diseases Physicians
ZEPHYRHILLS, FL., NOV 26, 2012.
Florida Hospital Zephyrhills has partnered with the Infectious Diseases physicians at Florida Medical Clinic to open the new Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Center for Wound Healing. The new center will offer conventional and advanced wound healing treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy and ultrasonic wound debridement, a less painful way to clean wounds and promote faster healing. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a treatment in which the patient breathes 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The therapy quickly delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the bloodstream, assists in the healing process of wounds and is effective in fighting certain types of infections.
The partnership brings together a team of experts – top physicians specializing in wound care, infectious disease and podiatry, and the strong operational leadership team of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. The new Center will provide a streamlined, multidisciplinary experience for patients in need of wound healing, reducing steps from inpatient hospital discharge to outpatient wound treatment, improving the overall continuity of care and patient outcomes.
The physician team will be working together to manage patients suffering from advanced and/or chronic wounds, which can be caused by conditions such as diabetes, vascular disorders, burns and radiation, pressure sores and trauma. Emilio Dominguez, MD, Keith Rosenbach, MD, Pete Tsambiras, MD, and Elvis Castillo, MD, are the four infectious disease physicians from Florida Medical Clinic who will be staffing the Center, along with podiatrist Mazen Abboud, DPM of the Medical Group of Tampa Bay. The clinical team brings over 50 years combined wound care experience, greater than 90% healing rate using an evidence-based approach to wound management, and greater than 95% patient satisfaction.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Florida Medical Clinic physician team as this service is integral to the health and healing of our community,” said Doug Duffield, President and CEO of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, “Florida Medical Clinic is a strong partner and their infectious disease physician team is highly experienced and in my opinion the best in Florida.”
“Florida Medical Clinic is excited to be working with Florida Hospital Zephyrhills in the creation of a state of the art wound healing facility,” said Emilio Dominguez, MD, “Both of our organizations have a strong commitment to a high quality patient care and to ensuring the best possible patient care experience. We are truly looking forward to our new partnership!”
The new center will open on Monday, December 3, 2012, and is located at 6215 Abbott Station Drive, Zephyrhills, FL 33542, and appointments can be made by calling (813) 783-1237.
