The Heart Institute at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills offers a full service line of cardiac procedures and care. Our Heart Institute features a stress testing, nuclear imaging, tilt table testing and echocardiogram.   In January 2006 the Heart Institute opened 2 state of the art cardiac surgery suites and interventional cardiology.  Currently we feature 2 cardiac catheterization labs which can perform cardiac angioplasty, stenting, Rotoblator, pressure wire, and intravascular ultrasound.  Our cardiac surgeons are well respected in the community and bring years of experience to our facility and program.  Currently our surgeons are performing wide range of surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting and valve replacement   We have added a 6 bed CVICU which specializes in the recovery of open heart surgery patients.  Our team of nurses bring many years of experience from several well respected facilities.  In addition we feature a 10-bed cardiac catheterization recovery unit (CRU).  The staff has been trained to manage patients recovering from cardiac catheterization. In addition we have added Phase I Cardiac Rehabilitation to meet the needs of our open heart surgery patients and interventional cardiac catheterization patients.  Outpatient cardiac rehabilitation provides quality care for our patients recovering at home.  Our staffs in the CVOR, CVICU, CRU, and Cardiac Rehabilitation have sought out national certification in their areas of specialty.  Certifications include CCRN, RCIS and ACLS.
