Cancer Detection

PET-CT

Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET-CT) helps physicians provide an accurate and automatic diagnosis for the staging and treatment of cancer.

Also used for breast cancer detection, PET-CT is Central Florida's only non-invasive diagnostic tool used to screen advanced breast cancer, often with greater accuracy than conventional imaging, and helps radiologists identify mammograms that may warrant a second review. Florida Hospital is the only Central Florida facility equipped with this technology.

Breast Cancer Detection

In addition to PET-CT, Florida Hospital offers a variety of breast cancer screenings. These are handled with skill and compassion so that your body receives effective, tender care. Our innovative breast cancer imaging services include:

CAD

Acts as a second opinion to the mammogram by reviewing results and helping radiologists find abnormalities originally overlooked.

Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

This procedure allows surgeons to determine which lymph nodes are easily affected by cancer and only remove them. The procedure often spares patients the unnecessary removal of lymph nodes, making surgery less physically traumatic.

Additional Imaging Services and equipment specific to cancer include:

  • Brain MRI
  • Abdominal/Pelvic MR
