Volunteer Opportunities

Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Volunteers are an important part of our health care team.  We have a group of competent, friendly, loyal, compassionate and dedicated members.  Our men and women have skills, talent and interests that help give Florida Hospital Zephyrhills a warm, compassionate  environment our patients and families need during stressful times.

In return, Volunteers participate in the professional setting, meet new people and get the satisfaction and fulfillment of helping others.

Volunteers are very special people and they do make a difference.  In 2005 our volunteers contributed over 46,000 hours.   We have over 300 volunteers during the winter months and have had 40 to 50 Teen Volunteers during the summer.  We are so proud to call them our own.

Anyone who has the desire to help others is invited to join our volunteer team.  If you are 14 years old or older, can commit to one-four hour shift a week, you are needed to join our team.  We have positions available from kitchen duties, escorting, patient services and clerical.  You choose your work area.

Please call Susan Bennett, Volunteer Coordinator, at (813) 788-0411 ext. 1902 if you have any questions you need answered.

What is a Volunteer?

Volunteers are very special people.  They don’t do what they do for recognition, fame, or fortune, nor do they expect anything in return for their time and efforts.  They do what they do out of love and respect for humanity.  Their payback is in the sense of fulfillment that comes from giving.  Volunteers make the world around them a better place to live.
