Who is a Volunteer?
Volunteers are very special people. They don’t give of their time for recognition, fame, or fortune, nor do they expect anything in return for their time and efforts. They give of their time out of love and respect for humanity. Their payback is in the sense of fulfillment that comes from giving. Volunteers make the world around them a better place to live.
Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (FHZ) wants to add to our team of fine volunteers whose mission is to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and their families in a Christian environment. Become a committed volunteer! If you have been looking for a way to serve your community, we want you on our team.
Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Volunteers are an important part of our health care team. We have a group of competent, friendly, loyal, compassionate and dedicated members. Our men and women have skills, talent and interests that help give Florida Hospital Zephyrhills a warm, compassionate environment our patients and families need during stressful times.
In return, Volunteers participate in a professional setting, meeting new people and get the satisfaction and fulfillment of helping others.
Volunteers are very special people and they do make a difference. In 2009 our volunteers contributed over 53,000 hours. We have over 350 volunteers during the winter months and have had 75 Teen Volunteers during the summer. We are so proud to call them our own.
Anyone who has the desire to help others is invited to join our volunteer team. If you are 14 years old or older, can commit to one-four hour shift a week, you are needed to join our team. We have positions available from kitchen duties, escorting, patient services and clerical. You choose your work area.
Please call Susan Bennett, Volunteer Coordinator, at (813) 779-6256 if you have any questions you need answered.
