Program Outreach

Faith Community Nursing develops the spiritual dimension of the nursing practice in addition to the physical, psychological and social aspects. Due to this comprehensive approach to the Faith Community Nursing Program, caring for the body, mind and spirit, we are able to fulfill a greater holistic approach to wellness. Our program nurses collaborate with our faith community leaders and form partnerships in an attempt to reach the underserved community.

Our training classes and ongoing support will assist in the development of Health Ministry teams. Some examples of the team’s ministry opportunity include:
• Abuse
• Divorce
• Drugs/Alcohol
• Loneliness (Shut-ins, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities)
• Single Parenting
• Violence/Gangs
• Teenage Pregnancy
• Obesity

Our program services are designed to involve individuals, families and even congregations as a whole. This extends our hand as active partners in their personal health. Through this involvement, nurses help empower communities and foster an environment of understanding and support.

If you are a Religious organization who does not currently have a Faith Community Nursing program or Health Ministry Team, we encourage you to participate in the program to assist your congregation to become healthier in mind, body & spirit.
