The Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills offers an intensive treatment program for chronic and complicated wounds. The primary goal of the Center for Wound Care is healing wounds in the shortest time possible and preventing recurrence.

What is the Center for Wound Care Program?

Many wounds heal without intensive intervention. However, certain conditions such as diabetes, vascular disease or compromised mobility put patients at risk for non-healing or chronic wounds that last more than four weeks. Such wounds benefit from the specialized and intensive treatment now available at the Center for Wound Care.

Our team of physicians, nurses and other professionals specialize in healing complex, chronic wounds. The latest treatments, meticulous monitoring and a dedicated team focus help our practitioners to advance healing in dramatic ways.

How is the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Center for Wound Care different?

Our Center for Wound Care is a comprehensive resource that uses an expert interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat chronic wounds and wounds that resist healing. An integral part of our program is the ability to call upon the expertise of our general surgeons, podiatrists, infectious disease practitioners, vascular surgeons, dermatologists, dedicated nurses, physical therapists, and nutritionists, to make assessments and provide continued treatment.

Who should seek care at the Center for Wound Care?

Patients who have wounds or skin ulcers that do not appear to be improving despite following their personal physicians’ recommendations should speak to their physician about a referral to the Center for Wound Care at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills.

What is the role of your primary physician?

The patient's personal physician, sometimes called the Primary Care Physician, will continue to treat any underlying conditions and manage overall patient care. The treatment team at the Center for Wound Care will treat the chronic or non-healing wound and will remain in contact with the patient's primary physician during the course of treatment.

The Center for Wound Care is located in Building M behind Florida Hospital Zephyrhills at the corner of Daughtery and Dairy Roads.
